Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Kimm & Miller (UK) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") are committed to eliminating acts of modern-day slavery and human trafficking within our business and from within our supply chains.

Although our annual turnover is under £36 million and we are therefore not legally required to produce an annual slavery and human trafficking statement, this document is made voluntarily in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement covers the financial year ending 28 February 2025.

1. Our Organisational Structure, Business and Supply Chains

Kimm & Miller (UK) Ltd specialises in the design and sale of food, confectionery, and gifting products to UK retailers and, more recently, to consumers directly through our ecommerce website, www.kimmandmillershop.co.uk.

We operate from one office based at Unit E, Bedford Business Centre, Mile Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK42 9TW.

Our supply chains are primarily located in the UK and China. We have an in-house Technical Department that works closely with our suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with all relevant ethical, quality, and safety standards.

2. Our Policy on Slavery and Human Trafficking

We are fully committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery, human trafficking, or forced labour within our business or supply chains.
Our policies reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to safeguard against slavery and human trafficking.

3. Due Diligence Processes

We recognise that, while we consider ourselves a low-risk business, vigilance is essential.

Our due diligence processes include:
▪️ Direct recruitment through reputable agencies registered with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation.
▪️ No use of agency workers or recruitment from outside the UK without appropriate compliance checks.
▪️ Supply chain assessments, including the expectation that all suppliers adhere to ethical labour practices and uphold the same zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery.

4. Assessing and Managing Risk

We have measures in place to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in our supply chain, including:
▪️ Maintaining a Whistleblowing Policy to encourage the reporting of concerns.
▪️ Conducting supplier due diligence and ethical checks as part of onboarding and contract renewal processes.
▪️ Requiring suppliers to provide confirmation that they have their own anti-slavery policies in place and cascade these standards through their own supply chains.

5. Effectiveness in Combating Slavery and Human Trafficking

We are committed to continually improving our practices to identify and eliminate any slavery or human trafficking risks.

We have introduced a supply chain compliance programme, which requires suppliers to:
▪️ Confirm the existence of anti-slavery policies within their operations.
▪️ Ensure they expect the same compliance from their own suppliers and subcontractors.
▪️ Acknowledge and uphold our ethical standards as part of their contractual obligations.

6. Training and Awareness

We provide appropriate training to relevant employees to ensure a heightened awareness of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Training covers how to identify potential issues and how to report any concerns confidentially.

We also promote a company culture of transparency and ethical responsibility at all levels of the business.

7. Our Ongoing Commitment

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
We will continue to strengthen our systems and raise awareness among our employees and partners, reinforcing our commitment to operating an ethical and responsible business.
